Blanche Victoria Hunter Barnwell, daughter of the late Rev. Henery B. Hunter, Sr. and the late Lucille T. Hunter, was born on December 28, 1945 in Charleston, SC. She was one of 15 children. In 1960 she moved to New York City.
A Time To Live
Blanche attended Rhett Elementary School and Wallace High School. She attended cooking school in New York City. She accepted Jesus churist as her Lord and Savior at a young age in Nichols Chaple A.M.E. Church. Years later she joined Community Baptist Church. She enjoyed people and life itself, but had a passion for easting, cooking, and watching movies. She was a person who would give whatever she had. Blanche loved children and had a deep respect for the elderly. She lived a good life and enjoyed it to the fullest.
A Time To Love
Blanche and Mr. Henery Simmons were blessed with one daughter, Carolyn Simmons-Deveaux. Blanche later married Mr. Leroy Barnwell. Blanche loved her family and friends. She enjoyed being around them but, there was a special love for her baby sister Jen, brother Nathaniel, and a dear friend Myrtle Seymour.

Blanche V. Hunter Barnwell (61) went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 5:10 A.M. at The Hospice Home.
Blanche is cherished in memory by her beloved husband- Mr. Leroy Barnwell; Daughter- Ms. Carolyn Simmons-Deveaux; Grandchildren- LaTeisha Haynes, Daryl Deveaux, Jr. and DeLaSade Deveaux; siblings- Mrs. Jen Gibbs (Willie), Mrs. Vermelle Jalil (Abdul), Ms. Earnestins Scott, Mr. Raymond Hunter, Sr. (Mary), Mr. Nathaniel Hunter, Sr. (Carol), Mr. Henry Hunter, Jr. (Alberthia); honorary brother Herman; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends
