Private 4574 Owen Barrat was a 34 year old press worker living at Headless Cross, Redditch when he enlisted at Worcester with the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment. Owen was the son of John William and Ann Maria Barrat nee Inett. Sadly he died of illness and was laid to rest at Redditch Cemetery. Owen was entitled to be awarded British WW1 medals. After the Great War his family would have been sent the Memorial Death Plaque of WW1.

Commemorated in perpetuity by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (listed as O D Barratt)
