Geraldine Erma "Gerry" Anderson, 82 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Geraldine was born May 23, 1928 at Oberlin, Kansas, the eldest of six children born to Gerald and Ida (Brown) Barratt.

Gerry received her education from McCook Public Schools.
Following her education, Gerry was united in marriage on November 16, 1946 to Harold D. Anderson of Bertrand, Nebraska and to this union two daughters were born: Jacquetta and Pamela. The family made their home on a farm near Bertrand, until moving to Minden, Nebraska and later settling to Holdrege. In earlier years, Gerry was employed in food service at the Brewster Hospital and later at Holdrege Memorial Homes. On June 12, 2006 she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold. She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church in Kearney, Nebraska.

Besides her husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Effa Jean in infancy and Jacquetta; and brother, John.

Gerry leaves to mourn her passing her daughters: Jacquetta Stehr and her husband, Frederick of Wickenburg, Arizona and Pamela White and her husband, Dave of Holdrege; granddaughter, Alexis Walker of Holdrege; brother, Jerry Barratt and his wife, Eileen of Tekamah, Nebraska; sister, Karen Dack and her husband, Richard of McCook, Nebraska; brothers-in-law: William Johnson of Destin, Florida and Leland Anderson of Bertrand; sisters-in-law: Myrna Barratt of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jean Anderson of Stromsburg, Nebraska, Lola Fastenau and her husband, Mervin of Bertrand; and a host of relatives and friends.
