Anna E. Bartlett, age 99, of Mount Vernon, died Thursday June 1, 2017 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon following a brief illness. Anna was born October 19, 1917 in Mount Vernon to Christopher and Mary (Ridenour) Baldwin and had spent her lifetime in Knox County. She had served as a 4H advisor for 25 years and had taught knitting and tailoring at the Knox County Career Center.
Surviving are her daughter Margy Lea of Fredericktown, granddaughters Suzan (Tony Hooper) Lea and Allison (Eric Hernlund) Lea, great grandson Charles "Charlie" Lea-Hooper; her sister Edith Thompson; brother-in-law Thomas Ray; sister-in-law Eleanor Bartlett and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband Larry Bartlett Jr., brother and sister-in-law Charles and Virginia Baldwin, sisters and brother-in-law Doris and Walter Shuff and Mary Frances Ray, brothers-in-law Carl Thompson, Frank Bartlett and Dan (Marie) Bartlett.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside funeral service will be Monday June 5, 2017 at 2 PM at the Morris Chapel Cemetery.
