Everette Lee Bartlett, 86, of Macon, Georgia died peacefully at his home Monday, February 2, 2015.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Joe McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 1:30PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home.

Born in Macon on September 22, 1928, he was a lifelong resident and businessman.

A member of Boy Scout troop 25, he graduated from Lanier High School for Boys in June of 1946. Soon after, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific aboard the USS Chilton. He received an honorable discharge in April of 1948.

Mr. Bartlett was ordained as a Baptist minister in May of 1958, and served occasionally as a lay preacher. He was a founding member of Gilead Baptist church.

In 1972 he assumed ownership of Bartlett Sheet Metal Works, Incorporated, a Macon business founded in 1925 by his father Walter Edmond Bartlett. He ran the business until retiring in 2006.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Spann Bartlett of Hazlehurst, Georgia, and a son, Jonathan Brooks Bartlett.

He is survived by son, Walter E. Bartlett, grandson, Christopher E. Bartlett, step-grandson, Charles Alfred Discher III of Burleson, Texas, sister-in-law, Sandra Spann Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
