Martha J. Allen, 84, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 19, 2010, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.

She was born May 2, 1926, in New Boston, to Clark and Lucille (Reynolds) Bartlett. She graduated from Glenwood High School in New Boston in 1943. After this she worked as a secretary for Union Fork and Hoe in Columbus from 1944-1947. Martha loved reading and was a long time member of the New Boston Methodist Church, and Christ United Methodist Church in Sciotoville where she was a member of the Mother's Club.

She is survived by her husband; one son of Wheelersburg; one daughter of West Portsmouth; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David, in 2000.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at Christ United Methodist Church in Sciotoville, with Rev. Frank James and Rev. Richard North officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville, and one hour before the service on Monday at the church.
