Adrian J Bartlett was the son of Alonzo Bartlett 1817 and Ursula Manchester.

Adrian enlisted in the 121st New York Volunteer Infantry on 4 Aug 1862, as an 18 year old at Milford, Otsego County, New York. He was mustered in on 23 August at Camp Schuyler into Capt. Douglas Campbell's Co. E.

Adrian saw action at Antietam and the battle at Fredericksburg in December 1862. He spent that 1862-63 winter in camp across the Rappahannock River from Fredericksburg, Virginia at White Oak Church.

He was involved in the heavy fight at Salem Church on 3 May 1863 when the 6th Corp, of the 121st New York regiment, was attempting to break through to General Hooker who was involved at Chancellorsville.

He saw action at Gettysburg and other battles prior to being discharged for disability on 16 April 1864. It is not known whether his discharge was due to wounding or something else.

Adrian and his parent's family moved from Milford, Otsego, New York to Perry, Lake, Ohio by 1860.

Adrian moved to Cleveland, Ohio by 1880, where he lived the rest of his life.
