Edward Barton joined the Brothers of the Sacred Heart at Metuchen, NJ, in 1915 and was trained by Br. Fernand who was postulant master and Br. Albertinus who was novice master.

An enthusiastic, successful teacher mostly in lower grades, Br. Vincent is renowned in Donaldsonville, LA, as an outstanding teacher, religious, coach, organizer, and trainer of youth.

Vincent worked ten years as a missionary in Uganda where he took up farming, coached, and set up a teacher training school. Returning from Africa, he served several terms as director-principal of St. Francis in Metuchen, St. Rose of Lima in Brooklyn, and Coindre Hall in Huntington, Long Island.

A kind man, Vincent was very sociable and deeply interested in the success of the Institute.
