A correspondent of some New York paper records the interment, in the Quaker-burying-ground, village of Woodbury, (N. J.) of "Anna, wife of Lieut. Barton, now at sea, and daughter of Hugh Holinshead, one of our wealthiest shipping merchants. This is the same lady, who a few years ago, married Lieut. Barton, against the wishes of her parents, and a divorce was obtained by her father from the legislature, which, at the time, excited much surprise. The lady, however, subsequently, and at the first opportunity, married him again, and has since lived with him on the small salary which is attached to the office of a midshipman, recently advanced to lieutenantcy. Her father has never since recognized her, and she has but once been to his house. On the 4th, she gave birth to a third child; on the 5th she received a letter from her husband stating that he was about to be transferred from his then station, and would be placed in a situation that she would not hear from him for, perhaps, six months. The excitement, consequent upon this, threw her into a fever, and she died on the following day. Her mother, who never ceased to show a mother's fondness for her child, was with her; and a few hours before she died, her father also visited her chamber. He who has felt keenly we have no doubt, now feels the bitterest remorse; that he fondly loved her no one doubted.-N. O. Pic.
