Elizabeth L. Godwin
Elizabeth L. Godwin, age 84, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD.
Born in Wilmington to the late Walter and Bertha Bassett, Elizabeth enjoyed crafts and spending winters in Florida, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was predeceased in 1988 by her husband in of 43 years, William L. Godwin, Sr., and her son, William L. Godwin, Jr. in 2006. She is survived by her children, Wayne L. Godwin and his wife, Susan J., of Middletown, DE, and Sharon L. Hitchens and her husband, Allen, of Smyrna, DE; and 3 grandchildren, Christine Dolor of Rising Sun, MD, Allen M. Hitchens, III of Pittsburg, PA, and Leslie A. Godwin of Middletown, DE.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 10:30 am at the McCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3710 Kirkwood Highway (Rt. 2 at Duncan Rd.), Wilmington, DE 19808 where friends will be received after 9:30 am. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made in Elizabeth's name to Hospice Care, 133 N. Bridge St., 3rd Fl., Elkton, MD 21921.
