In Beachmont, February 29, Clare E. Bates, wife of Silas M. Bates of 830 Winthrop Av., Beachmont, and mother of Mrs. Margaret S. Bickford and Dr. Leslie M. Bates.

Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Congregational Church, Winthrop Av., Beachmont, on Sunday, March 3, at 2:30 p.m. Relatives and friends invited.

REVERE, March 1
The funeral of Mrs. Clara E. Bates, 72, Winthrop Av., one of the oldest active parishioners of the Trinity Congregational Church, Beachmont, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 at the church. Rev. Porter Bower, pastor, will officiate.

Mrs. Bates, who was born in Boston, lived in Revere about 50 years. She and her husand Silas M. Bates observed their golden wedding anniversary last October. Mrs. Bates was active in several women's clubs and was past noble grand of Neried Rebekah Lodge, past president of Priscilla Social Circle, and organizer of the Trinity Congregational Church Sisterhood.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Dr. Leslie M. Bates; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret S. Bickford; a brother, Elmer S. Tibbetts; and four grandchildren.

Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Lynnfield.
