Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Turner, retired music minister of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Aaron Batman was born July 5, 1920, in Mountain Grove, Mo., to Wesley and Ada Batman. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving from Aug. 1941 to Oct. 1945, and attained the rank of sergeant. He was in battles and campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe, in charge of artillery for anti-aircraft.
On Nov. 5, 1945, he married Bonnie Caton who preceded him in death on July 15, 2003. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1946 and had worked for Diamond Shamrock as an instrument man for 37 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Steve Batman and wife Jo Anne of Dumas; a sister, Pauline Carson of Oklahoma City; a granddaughter, Heather Batman; and a great-grandson, Jonathan Stephen Goodwin.
The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 617, Dumas, TX; or Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second, Dumas, TX 79029.
The family will be at 802 Normandy in Dumas.
