Nina Julia Barnett, 78, of Omaha passed away Saturday, March 20 (2004) at St. John's Hospital.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 25 at New Hope Baptist Church with Tom Wood officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Arnold, Gene Ashley, Jim Boone, Danny Edwards, Gary Matlock, and Kenneth Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Barnes, Lanny Fausett, Scott Edwards, Terry Roe, and the senior adult class at New Hope Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Youth Group, Highway 14 East, Omaha, Ark. 72662.

The daughter of Charlie and Lena Wright Batten was born Oct. 2, 1925 in Penrin, Calif. She had lived in the area for about five years after moving here from Las Vegas, Nev. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Roy Batten; and one sister, Wyvana Krupp.

She is survived by her husband of the home, C. Barnie Barnett; two sons, Richard Beam of Omaha and Robert Beam of Ventura, Calif.; one daughter, Pauline Stewert of Mena; three brothers, Dick Batten of Las Vegas, Nev., Norman Batten of Ventura, Calif., and Wesley Batten of Bella Vista; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of Charlie and Lena Wright Batten.
She married C. Barnie Barnett.
Mrs Barnett died at Saint John's Hospital in Springfield Missouri.
