Clarence W. Batten, Jr., age 89, of Millville died Friday, September 20, 2013 at Eagleview Center in Pittsgrove.

The husband of Doris Garrison Batten, he was born on April 28, 1924 in Downe Twp. and was the son of the late Clarence Batten and Helen Schaffer Batten. He had lived in Millville for the past seven years and was a resident of Newport and Summerfield, FL prior to that.

Mr. Batten had been employed with the Cumberland County Department of Streets and Roads for many years before his retirement.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Karen Drummond of Newport; three granddaughters, Cynthia Weil-Panas of Hammonton, Susan Cacciamani of Newport and Nancy Young of Cedarville; a sister, Martha Gandy, 9 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie Pacheco, a son, Charles Batten, a grandson, Charles "Chip" Doka and two sisters, Dorothy Gandy and Leona Cobb.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. Interment will follow the services. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville.
