RUBY IDONA BATTS REED, 76, of Millington, died April 14, 2007 at Methodist North Hospital. She lived with her granddaughter, Randi Nicole Reed and her wonderful friend and fiancé, Michael Shane Rooney. Idona was born on May 22, 1931 in Forrest City, AR, (St. Francis County) to Brent E. Batts and Ruby Montgomery Batts Huntley who preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Raleigh Batts; sister, Jo Nell Batts; husband, Howard Reed, Sr. and granddaughter, Elizabeth Renee Reed. She worked as an office clerk for 34 years before retiring in 1981 in the trucking industry; she is also a retired member of Teamsters Local Union 667 after over 20 years. She is survived by two sons, Donald L. Houston, Jr. of Drummonds and Howard Reed, Jr. of Brighton and a daughter, Dorothy Jane Larsen of Poplar Bluff, MO. She also survived by five grandchildren, Amy Trout, Misty Byrd, Gean Allen Byrd, Howard Reed III and Travis Houston; three step-grandchildren, Chaston Reeves, Jonathan Reeves and Kimberly Nicole Johnson and four great-grandchildren. Visitation from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel. Funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at Munford Funeral Millington Chapel with burial to follow in Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington.
