Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late John and Hattie Coker Bayne.
Mrs. Barnette retired from J.P. Stevens – Dunean Plant as a Lab. Technician, and retired from Dunean Baptist Church in 2003.
She was a member of Dunean Baptist Church and the Madge Gosnell Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Barnette of Atlanta, GA; a niece, Nancy Baker and a great-niece, Elaine Baker, both of Easley; and her brother, Ret. Colonel Robert Bayne of Hilton Head, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Barnette was predeceased by her sisters, Ethel Lindley, Rubye Raines, Alma Pitts and Willie King.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with burial following at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:15 p.m.
