Mildred Ruth Bates, 89 of Irvington, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016.

She was born July 23, 1926 in Centralia, daughter of Charles F. Beadle and Euta M. (Kell) Beadle. She married Francis Bates on August 26, 1943 in Salem and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2009.

Mildred is survived by three sons: Rodney Bates and wife Majo of Irvington, two grandsons: Steve Bates and wife Dawn of rural Centralia, and their children: Devin, Stephen and Tyler and Scott Bates and wife Amy of Quincy, Illinois; Carrol Don Bates and Marcella of rural Centralia and their seven children: Pam Rossi and husband Rob and their two sons: Logan and Jake, Kenny Bates and his two children: Colt and Vanessa, Charlie Bates, Brandy Green and her children: Brandon, Brianna, Brodwick, and Bethani, Donna Bates and her children: Mikala, Jace and Drew, Marissa Bales and husband Ray and their daughter, Hannah, and Marla McMahan and husband Ryan, and Rich Bates and wife Debbie of rural Centralia and their children: Dana Capaldi and husband Shane and their two daughters: Madison and Morgan, Jamie Bates and wife Natasha and their three children: Benjamin, Bailey, and Ella, Nathan Siegwald and wife Lisa and their two sons: Issac and Caleb, and Liz Siegwald and her two children: Abbie and Michael.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, David Bates, a grandson, Larry Werle III and a great-granddaughter, Autumn Bates.

Mildred was a member of the Greenview Christian Church in Centralia.

She lived in Irvington for 70 plus years. She was an avid reader. After retirement Francis and Mildred enjoyed traveling and spent most winters in Frostproof, Florida where they owned a home. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral Services for Mildred Bates will be held Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Greenview Christian Church in Centralia with Pastor John Klockenga officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the New Horizon Christian School and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, which is assisting the family with arrangements.
