Mary Nell Beall Allen, 83, died Friday, Oct. 14.

Born April 9, 1922, in Wesson, Miss., she was the youngest child of Jesse Pullen and Willard Lee Beall, who preceded her in death. She was a University of Tennessee graduate who earned a degree in home economics in 1944. While in school, she was a member of the Tri-Delta sorority and Mortar Board. After graduation she accepted a position with the American Red Cross, and her first assignment was Oliver General Hospital in Augusta, Ga. She and her husband lived in Columbia, Tenn., from 1947 to 1962, when the relocated back to Augusta. She was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, Damren Sunday school class and Augusta Country Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Grigg "Bill" Allen, a native of Kingston; brother, Samuel E. Beall; and sister, Kathleen Keenan.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Mary Allen and Ken Collins of Columbia, S.C., and Melissa L. Allen of Granbury, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. William M. and Cissy Allen of Savannah, Ga.; grandchildren, K. Wilson Collins of Columbia, Sarah E. Collins of Atlanta, Dr. Melissa A Behm of Greenville, S.C., and Celia L. Allen of Savannah; sister, Gwendolyn Stephens of Biloxi, Miss; and brother-in- law, James Montaque "Bobby" Allen of Kingston.

Graveside service was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, with the Rev. Steve Dodson officiating. Platt's Funeral Home, Augusta, was in charge of arrangements.
