BEASLEY MOUNT AIRY - Mrs. Vernell Joyce Beasley, age 84, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, December 15, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Beasley was born in Surry County on August 22, 1924 to the late William Vester and Ida Inman Joyce. She was a home maker and a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Airy.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Beasley; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Mike Orders of Hildebran, NC; grandsons, John Orders and Michael Orders, Jr.; sister, Rachel Jennings of Martinsville, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Delmar and Sue Joyce, Herbert and Lilly Mae Joyce all of Mt. Airy and Robert Joyce of Winston Salem. In addition to her parents Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Potts and a brother, Raymond Joyce.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, by Dr. Roger Gilbert with burial to follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 714 N. Main St, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
