Carolyn Beasley Baker, of Wendell, formerly of Hampstead and Knightdale, was born July 24, 1934, in Durham. She was the daughter of the late Edwin Worth Beasley and Sibyl Mason Beasley. She departed this life on October 18, 2013, after a prolonged period of suffering from physical ailments and the unreal world caused by dementia. In the real world before her illness, she was a good wife for fifty-two years, a good mother to her five children and a thoughtful grandmother to her grandchildren who were a special joy when the opportunity arose. An outgoing person, she had many acquaintances through her positions as a Tupperware lady and later as a travel agent. She greatly enjoyed the many tours and cruises connected with her job and personally with family, especially the opportunities to shop. Walking on the beach hunting for shells and talking with most anyone was her favorite past time for many years.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years: William "Bill" Horace Baker, Jr.; four daughters: Catherine Knupp (Tom), Leslie Davis (Bob), Elizabeth "Betsy" Trembley, Jennifer Simmons (Bill); and one son: Charles Edwin Baker; eight granddaughters; one grandson; one great-grandson and a great grandson expected to arrive early next year.

A visitation with the family members will be held from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, Monday, October 21, 2013 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Raleigh Memorial Park.
