Port Huron - Henry Clay Beattie, Jr., 68, of Port Huron, died Sunday, February 17, 2013.
He was born April 16, 1944 in Akron, Ohio to the late Mary and Henry Beattie, Sr.
Mr. Beattie graduated from Marine City High School in 1963 and was employed with Detroit Edison prior to his retirement. He was Scout Master for the Port Huron Handicapped Troop and was a Life Scout. He was a member of the Lions Club in Florida and Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Marysville.
He is survived by a son, Timothy Beattie; a sister, Bonnie (A. Keith) Thompson; six nieces and nephews, Sean (Laura) Thompson, Matthew (Gillian) Thompson, Bradley Thompson, Katherine (Adrian) Rabaut-Lahr, Scott Hayden and Justin Hayden; and great nieces and great nephews, Samantha, Nicole, Alex, Dylan and Logan. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Sue Hayden.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 in Pilgrim Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The Reverend John Hitzeroth will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or Water and Woods Council, Blue Water District, BSA.
