Hamlin Beattie III, 61, of Charleston, SC and Palm Beach, FL, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, in Palm Beach FL. He was born in Charleston, SC on December 19, 1944 to the late Hamlin Beattie and the Elizabeth Roberts Beattie.

He was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Hayne Beattie.

Hamlin was raised in Greenville, SC and lived there after his graduation from the University of South Carolina.

Hamlin was a stranger to no one, only a friend you had yet to meet.

He leaves to celebrate his memory his wife of 15 years, Loti Woods of Palm Beach, his son Hamlin Beattie, IV, of Asheville, NC, his daughter Hayne Beattie Gray, of Charleston, SC, and his granddaughter, Isabel Brosseau Gray, of Charleston, SC.

A celebration of Hamlin's life will be held Saturday, December 16, at 4pm at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-By-the-Sea, 141 South County Road, Palm Beach, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gateway House, 415 Rutherford St, Greenville, SC, 29609.
