Carie Michelle (Myers) Beattie, 36, Rogersville, Missouri, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at Cox Medical Center-South in Springfield, Missouri. She was born July 1, 1975, the first child of Doug Myers and Teresa (Myers) Phillips. An intelligent, creative and charismatic child, she attended elementary and junior high school in Independence, Missouri. After relocating with her family, she attended Cibola High School in Yuma, Arizona, where she graduated with honors in May of 1993. As a former model for various organizations, clothing lines and magazines, she possessed a captivating smile and personality that could light up a room. She moved several times with family across the western half of the country, making lifelong friends in Arizona, Nebraska, Oregon, and everywhere she went. An aspiring teacher, she received her associate's degree in 2003, honored by Phi Theta Kappa for excellence in her academic studies. She was married to Mike Beattie on May 28, 2005 and to this union, Ava Mae Beattie was born. A loving daughter, sister, mother, and friend, she was a single working mom, and a college senior striving towards her teaching degree. Selfless and giving, her last job was as a social worker and coordinator, dedicating her time to helping others and improving the lives of those less fortunate.

She is survived by her parents, Doug Myers and Teresa Phillips; her grandmother, Gloria Myers; her brothers, Brian Myers, Austin Phillips, Ryan Phillips, and Jake Reid; her sister, Stephanie Edwards; and her beloved daughter, Ava Mae Beattie. She will be missed greatly by extended members of the Myers, Phillips, Michalek, Noe, and Beattie families, as well as co-workers, associates, countless friends, and those whose lives she touched over her thirty six wonderful inspiring years. Always loved, never forgotten, and forever missed.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2011 in the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Chapel.
