Mrs. Elizabeth Bader, 81, died last Wednesday at the Hawarden hospital after suffering a stroke.
Mrs. Bader was born February 15, 1875, at Elk Point, S.D., from where she moved to Wisconsin at the age of three. When she was 10 years old she and her parents came to Hawarden. She was a member of the first graduating class of Hawarden high school.
On November 9, 1892, she married Oliver A. Bader in Hawarden. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1942. Mr. Bader died April 25, 1952, just seven months short of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Bader was a member of the Associated church and Mutual Improvement club.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday at the Associated church, rev. John C. Thorns officiating. "Beyond the Sunset" and "My God and I" were sung by Mrs. Ralph Gregg, jr., with Mrs. Hal Shoemaker at the organ. Interment was at Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Jones of Sioux Falls and Mrs. Jessie Williams of Hawarden.
