Caroline Barden, 104, formerly of Bridgeport passed away Friday at the Loretto Health Center. Born in Rutland, Vermont, Caroline was a long time resident of Bridgeport. She and her late husband Victor adopted 4 children and lived in Bridgeport on the south shore of Oneida Lake. While raising these children she also took pre-adoption babies from welfare and in all she prepared 22 babies for their new home. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years Victor in 1976 and her daughter Sandra Carpenter. Surviving are her sons, James (Bonnie) Barden of Limestone, ME. Richard (Anna) Barden of Farmington, NY, her daughter Amy (Allen) Grochan Denesha of Albuquerque, N.M., 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters. Spring graveside services will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Taberg.
