Sophia was born about 1775, probably near Barnsboro, Gloucester Co., NJ. She was the daughter of Josiah Beckett (Bockitt) and Sophia Bee. She married John Ashcraft on 12 Jan. 1796 in Gloucester Co. She died in Blackwoodtown, old Gloucester (now Camden) Co., NJ. Her son John Ashcraft Jr. was administrator of her estate.
