He was a WWII Naval Veteran and served in the Merchant Marines. After retiring from a career as an Engineer at High Voltage Engineering in Burlington Massachusetts, he and his wife Jean, became the owner and operators of the Museum Lodge in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.
They retired to Clearwater, Florida to be closer to family and enjoy their favorite pastime, golfing with friends at the Clearwater Country Club, and catching an occasional ball game with his friend, Sonny.
Survivors including his wife Jean Beckett, Daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Nels Estlund, eldest son William wife (Carla) Kindt, and five Grandchildren and three brothers George, Harold and Paul. Also was the father of the late Daniel Richard, who passed away in 1956.
