"Christopher John Beckman was born in McCook, Nebraska on September 17, 1954 and died on April 23, 2013, at Mercy San Juan Hospital, in Carmichael, California, after succumbing to a short term illness. Chris attended local schools, graduating from EV Cain Elementary, Placer High School, Sierra College and CSUS. He eventually received his MBA from National University and was working on a Masters in Avionic Administration from Embry-Riddle at the time of his illness. Professionally, Chris work for the Placer County Assessor's Office and reached the level of Supervising Appraiser. He retired after 27 years with Placer County. Chris enjoyed volunteering for the Sutter Hospice Thrift Shop. He was a member of the Auburn Host Lions Club, and Saint Joseph Parish, Auburn. Chris further enjoyed working on Lion Club projects throughout our community and on Parish projects for Saint Joseph Parish. Chris is survived by his brother, Richard, his niece Angela Butler, his nephew John Beckman and his nephew Anthony Beckman. Chris will be remembered for his quick wit and for his mirth and merriment that he imparted on people. A memorial mass will offered for Chris on June 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Auburn."
