Aileen Kobes Beckman, age 98, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2004 at her home at the Vintage retirement complex where she has resided for the past 6 years. She was born April 23, 1906 in Narka, Kansas. She came to Lodi from Kansas with her parents in 1921. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kobes and her sister was the late Mrs. Glen (Gayl) Ayers, all of Lodi. She graduated from Lodi High School in 1923. She attended the University of Kansas for one year and then San Jose State. She married her high school sweetheart, LeMoin Beckman, in 1925. They were married for 70 years and always lived in Lodi. Mr. Beckman, who passed away in 1995, was a member of the pioneer Beckman family here in Lodi.
She was a member of the United Congregational Christian Church since 1924. She was a charter member of Omega Nu and a charter member of the Emperor Group of Lodi Memorial Hospital. She also belonged to the Lodi Women's Club and Eastern Star for many years. She and Mr. Beckman were long-time members of the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club.
She leaves two children.
