ZANESVILLE: June E. Barnes, 88, of Zanesville, OH, died 6:37 p.m. Sunday, January 02, 2011 at Genesis-Good Samaritan Campus in Zanesville following a short illness.

She was born Saturday, March 25, 1922 in Barlow the daughter of Blonda and Mabel (Sciance) Bee.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. June was a wonderful homemaker, seamstress, upholsterer and cook. She and Jack enjoyed many years traveling out West, especially Arizona. Love was always abundant for all her family and friends. She cherished her son, brothers and sisters, and all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her special angel, Tyler.

June is survived by her son, Ricky (Joy) Barnes of Buckeye Lake: three grandchildren, Shayne (Jimmy Frey) Barnes of Zanesville, Shaun (Stacie Folden) Barnes of St. Petersburg, FL and Shaw (Ashley) Barnes of Wilder, KY; three step grandchildren, Luke (Debby) Compton of Van Wert, Jane (Ben) Greve of Kettlersville, and Jordan King of Beersheeva Israel; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Braelynn and Casen; one great step granddaughter, Miranda; twin sisters, Patty Kelly and Peggy (Butch) Davis of Zanesville; and many other devoted family and friends.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by her husband, John Francis "Jack" Barnes on August 10, 2000; two brothers, Bud and Larry; and a sister, Shirley Bishop.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 6 from 5-8 p.m. at with Christian Vigil service at 7:45 p.m. at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 7th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 144 North Fifth Street with Fr. Pius Pietrzyk, O.P. as celebrant. Burial will conclude in the Mt. Olive Cemetery Zanesville OH .

Memorial contributions can be made to Starlight School, 1330 Newark Rd. and Bishop Rosecrans High School.

Arrangements are being handled by the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave., Zanesville Ohio.
