Born: March 17, 1915 in Tinicum Township, PA, daughter of the late Hiram and Revie Diehl Beer. Florence lived in Upper Black Eddy since 1935. Florences beloved husband Charles W. Allen passed away in 1993. She worked for LeRoi Candy Co. in Upper Black Eddy, PA for 23 years and was a homemaker.
Memberships: Florence was an active member of the Upper Tinicum Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school there for 30 years and was a member of the Lutheran Church Womans Club. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Frenchtown and served as chaplain and warder for over 15 years. She also sang with the Kitchenaires in Holland Township and was a member of the Holland Township Senior Citizens.
Survivors: She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Allen of Plumbsteadville, PA, Emilie Grunwell and her husband Wayne of West Chester, PA and Lorraine Fleck and her husband Richard of Holland Township, NJ; her brother, Martin Beer of Perkasie, PA; her sisters, Mary Beer of Trenton, NJ and Louise Leidich of Hellertown, PA; five grandchildren, five great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
Services: Funeral services will be held on Monday April 18, 2011 at 12 noon at the Upper Tinicum Lutheran Church, Upper Tinicum Church Rd., Upper Black Eddy, PA with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Upper Tinicum Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service in the church.
