Edna Mae Beer Auen, 73, of Blairsville, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe. A daughter of Samuel C. and Edna Saltsgiver Beer, she was born Dec. 19, 1933 in Blairsville. Mrs. Auen was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, LOOM 187 and FOE 1488 Auxiliary, all of Blairsville. Surviving are a stepson, Ronald, Monaca; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Jones and husband Dwight, Butler; a niece and a nephew; seven great- nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry W. "Bill" Auen; and two sisters, Dorothy Borkowski and Helen Dell. The family received friends at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville, where services were held Thursday with the Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating. Interment was in Blairsville Cemetery.
