Duluth News-Tribune (MN) - November 22, 2004:

Deceased Name: CHERYL (SHARI) BEHN BEAULIER
Shari Beaulier passed away at St. Mary's Hospice on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, after an almost 8 year courageous battle with breast cancer.

Shari was born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, on August 6, 1946, to Charles and Alice Behn. The family also lived briefly in Minneapolis before moving to Duluth in 1954.

She graduated from Duluth Central in 1964 and from UMD in 1968 with a degree in Elementary Education. She finished grade school at Washburn Elementary in 1958 and then returned there 10 years later in 1968 as a first grade teacher. She taught at Washburn 2 years.

On June 20, 1970, she married Allan Beaulier at Concordia Lutheran Church and they resided in California for about a year before returning to Duluth. She then became the Title I teacher at Stowe Elementary and retained that position until she was forced to retire in 2001 for health reasons.
Shari loved teaching.

Another love was Pine Lake in New Auburn, Wisconsin. The Behn family has had a cabin and land there for 80 years and she never missed a summer there. In 1987, she and Allan together with her brother Steve and his wife, built a lovely log home on some of the land. She had a knack for decorating and it was very evident at her home in Duluth and the log home on Pine Lake.

She was also very interested in crafts and would try anything from caning chairs, re-upholstery, needlework, to knitting and accomplished it all. She belonged to the Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma and was also a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, Allan; her mother, Alice Behn, Duluth; and her brother Steve (Laurie) Behn of North Richland Hills, Texas.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in Bell Brothers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Oneota Cemetery.

Memorials to Animal Allies would be appreciated."
