The family lived in the area of Prussia that is now Poland, and not Germany. The couple also married 17 Nov 1844 in Bromberg Stadt, Posen, Preußen, aka Bromberg, Posen, Prussia, now Bydgoszcz, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Poland in the Evangelische Kirche Bromberg.
All of the children were baptized in this church as well from 1844 thru 1860.
When the family arrived in New York 16 Apr 1874, the former residence is listed as Zawada, Preußen, which is now Zawada, Bydgoszcz, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Poland.
