ADAMS, Edna Irene Behrens, age 78, of Middletown, Ohio, passed on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village where she had been a patient for three months. She was born August 23, 1937 in Wyanet, Illinois. She was a Teacher for the Cincinnati School District for a few years. She then was the head of Food Administration for Middletown City Schools for 20 years. For the past 14 years she had worked for Milton’s Doughnuts. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Preceding her in death were her parents, John Christian and Anna Eliza Bradley Behrens; one sister, Mary Kennedy; and one brother, John Roger Behrens. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Jay “Jim” Adams; three children, Scott Adams, wife Penny, Jay Adams, wife Jodi and Heather Adams; six grandchildren, Nathan, Megan, Jessica (and Austin), Tyler (and Jennifer), McKenzie and Ian; three great grandchildren, Evan, Houston and Aria; four sisters, Anna May Frech, husband Bob, JoAnn See, husband Chuck, Alice Bergland and Helen Coble; and many nieces, nephews and friends. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Monroe First Church of God, 100 East Ave., Monroe, Ohio 45050, with Pastor Terry Ball officiating.
