The daughter of Babette Behrman, also buried at Jewish Cemetery, along with Dora's sister, Florence Behrman. Dora married Sigmund Haas, a dry goods merchant in Monroe, Louisiana. Sigmund would later own one of the most prominent clothing stores in Monroe. After their mother's death, Florence lived with the Haas before removing to Gulfport, Mississippi.

RITES ARE HELD FOR MRS. SIG HAAS.

Services Conducted At Residence On Tuesday Afternoon.

The funeral of Mrs. Dora Behrman Haas, wife of Sig Haas, prominent pioneer merchant of Monroe, who died at her home at 608 Riverside drive at 7:25 p.m. Monday, was held at the residence at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Her death occurred after an illness of five years and the end was not unexpected. She was in her 79th year.

Pallbearers were Mark Ringheim, Charles Tiche, Jr., Abe Arent, Clarence Oakley, Jack Rogers, S. K. Henninger, Walker Glenn, I. Liebreich and Richard Downes, Jr.

Interment was in the Jewish cemetery.

Born In Texas.

Mrs. Haas had been a resident of Monroe since 1866. She was born in San Antonio, Tex., in 1856. After the death of her father, she removed to Vicksburg, Miss., to make her home and was there throughout the siege of Vicksburg in the Civil war. Following the close of the war, she came to Louisiana with her mother and settled in Monroe.

Her marriage to Sig Haas, prominent Monroe merchant, took place in 1882. The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary three years ago.

Survivors Listed.

Two sons of Mr. and Mrs. has, D. Aubrey Haas and Morris W. Haas, associated with their father in business, are leading merchants and civic leaders of Monroe. Both sons and their father survive. Three grandchildren also survive, Shirley Haas Snyder, wife of David Snyder of Bastrop, Morris W. Haas, Jr., and Cramer Haas. Mose and Louis Hoffman, of Monroe, cousins of Mrs. has, also survive, as does a sister, Mrs. Florence Behrman of Gulfport, Miss.

The Men's club of Temple B'Nai Israel has postponed its meeting for Tuesday night until Tuesday of next week, due to the death of Mrs. Haas.
