He was born in Cleveland and grew up in East Liverpool. Formerly of Rochester Hills, Mich., he had been a Naples resident since 1998.
A World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, he spent 12 years in the field of radio broadcasting in Ohio and Michigan as an announcer, newscaster, news director and program director. Over the course of 45 years he worked as an executive vice president of marketing for Pontiac State Bank and vice president of marketing for both T&C FCU and USA FCU (Genisys CU).
Survivors include his wife, Marge; a daughter, Susan Belaney, and a son, Curt Belaney, both of Michigan.
A memorial service was held on Saturday in Naples.
