INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Moina Barton, 89, died Friday, March 7, 2008.

Moina raised two sons while writing for television and the Department of Economic Development, State of Kansas. In 1978 she retired to Pocahontas, where she resided through 2004.

She is survived by two sons, David (Donna) Barton of Topeka, Kan., and Danny (Cindy) Barton of Independence, Mo.; two sisters, Freda Brown and Jeanne Simpson of Pocahontas; one granddaughter, Dana (Jason) Weaver of Topeka; and one grandson, Michael (fiancee Katie Goodwin) Barton of Boston.

Please join with her family to celebrate her life and offer your prayers. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral home with the Rev. Fred Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Johnston Cemetery.

Visitation will be monday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
