Son of Donald Hawkins Belford Sr. and Marguerite Ruth Richardson, husband of Rose F. Taggart, and father of Donna Belford.

Obituary - Islip - Services were to be held today for Donald Belford Jr., 48, a civil engineer who held several posts in the Islip Town government. He died Monday while eating in a local restaurant. Belford, who lived on Long Island all his life, was a chairman of the old Long Island MacArthur Airport Commission, a town-appointed body charged with supervising the affairs of the airport. He resigned in February 1969. Earlier, Belford had been an advisor to Supervisor Harry J. Kangsieser in charge of reorganizing town departments. He was a former president of the Nassau-Suffolk Civil Engineers Association. He is survived by his wife, Kay, and a daughter, Donna. He is to be buried at the cemetery of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Great River, after services there.
