The Memorial service for
Ruth Hackman, 85, was
held Thursday, Oct. 7, at 10:30
a.m. in West Union United
Methodist Church with Rev.
Richard Grindstaff officiating.

Interment was in Dunham-Grove
Cemetery, Randalia. Burnham-
Wood Funeral Home was in charge
of arrangements.
Ruth died Sunday, Oct. 3,
1999 at the New Hampton
Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Ruth Mane (Belknap)
Hackman, daughter of Charles and
Eva Belknap, was born May 6,
1914 at Dundee.
Ruth married George Austin in
1935. They lived in the West
Union area and also in Texas for
awhile. George died in 1958. Ruth
then married Ray Backman and they
later divorced. In 1961 she married
J.F. (Tommy) Tomlinson. They
lived in Texas, Louisiana and
California before retiring to
Waucoma in 1978. Tommy died in
1982. On June 14, 1991 Ruth
married Anselm Hackman at St.
Mary's Catholic Church, Waucoma.

She had worked as a nurse's
aide in the area hospitals. Ruth
was a member of the Valleyview
Wesleyan Church, West Union.
Ruth was preceded in death by
her husbands, George Austin, Ray
Backman and J.F. Tomlinson; a
son. Gene Austin; her parents; two
brothers; two sisters; and four
grandchildren.
She is survived by her
husband, Anselm Hackman,
Waucoma; two sons, Darrel Austin,
Fort Atkinson, and David Austin,
Austin, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; a brother, Lee
Belknap, Sequen, Texas; three stepdaughters,
Rose Mary Kriener, Darlene Robbins, both of
Waucoma, and Eileen Eichenberger,
Alta Vista.
