Mrs. Abston was born Oct. 11, 1911 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. She had been a Yolo County resident for 60 years. She was a cannery worker at Contadina for 30 years and a nurse's aide at Alderson Convalescent Hospital for 25 years.
Survivors include Mrs. Abston's son, [redacted for privacy]; her grandchildren, [redacted] and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Claude "Dock" Abston; her son, Richard Abston; her sisters, Grace and Willie Mae; and her brothers, Wesley, Fate, Dean and Ludie.
Services: Respecting the wishes of Mrs. Abston, private services were held at Monument Hill Memorial Park. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
