St.Ansgar Couple Plans Open House.

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Belz, St.Ansgar, will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary Sunday.

Open house will be held from 2 to 5 amd 7 to 8:30 p.m. at their home.

Andrew Belz and Ida Groth were married March 1,1904 at the Lutheran Church in Bronton, Minn.

Their attendants were Mrs. Fred Vedder and the late William Groth.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Belz moved to the St.Ansgar community where they farmed until 1916. When they retired and moved to the village. They are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

A family dinner will be held at the church parlors. Mr. and Mrs. Belz have four children.

Walter Belz, Davenport, Iowa. Miss Florence Belz, Mrs. Wilmer Rosel and Howard Belz, St.Ansgar. They have 13 grandchildren.

North Iowa Couple in Service Married St.Ansgar-
Edith Cornwall, Ph.M.2c, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Cornwall of Forest City, and Cpl. Howard Belz son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Belz of St. Ansgar, were married in a church near Oakland, Cal., October 28.

After his furlough Cpl; Belz will return to Fort Lewis, Wash, where he is stationed, and Mrs. Belz will resume her duties at the naval hospital at Oakland.

Andrew Belz Rites Thursday at St. Ansgar

ST. ANSGAR – Andrew Belz, 83, died Tuesday morning at his home here, following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery.

He was born March 2, 1874, on a farm five miles west of St. Ansgar. He farmed most of his life and retired to St. Ansgar in 1916.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters. They are Howard, Florence, at home, and Mrs. Wilma Rosel, all of St. Ansgar, and Walter, Davenport. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Ruehlow and Mrs. Fred Veeder, St. Ansgar, and William Belz, Good Samaritan Home, Mason City.
