Marian Frances Benka, 71, died on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010. Marian was born in St. Louis, Mo., on July 10, 1938.

She married and moved to Levy County 37 years ago where she raised her family and worked as a nurse for Shands and Alachua General Hospital. Marian was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bronson, she enjoyed making crafts, working on the computer and loved to fish.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Jones; and her husband of 40 years, Thomas Benka.

She is survived by her sons, Harold D. Benka (Suzie), Thomas R. Benka (Wendy); her daughters; Pamela Perez (Martin), Kathie L. Boswell (Jerry), Theresa M. Leffert (Jerry), Tonya Godkin (Eric), Deborah Benka (Joe), 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Knauff Funeral Home in Williston. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bronson with Pastor Troy Turner officiating. Burial will follow at the Bronson Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Knauff Funeral Home in Williston.
