She was born June 28, 1924, in Easton, the daughter of the late William and Daisy (Raub) Benn. She and her husband, Jacob J. Beers, observed their 65th wedding anniversary last year. She was employed as a school bus driver for Colonial Regional IU20 until retiring in 1992. Prior to that she was employed as a sewing machine operator at various blouse mills in the Slate Belt. She was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Nazareth.
Survivors: In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, William, James, and John Beers, five sisters, Margaret Koch, Edith Clause, Shirley Bajan, Ruth Kneebone, and Carol Bronisoski, a brother James Benn, and 2 grandchildren Heather and Ryan Beers.
Three brothers Donald, William, and John Benn and two sisters Virginia Perine and Dorothy Werkheiser all died earlier.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday in the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, 314 S. First Street, Bangor. Call Wednesday 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Disease Foundation, 63 N. Franklin Street, Wilkes Barre, PA 18701.
