Richard H. Bennett, 76, of Rosedale, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital, Gassaway. He was born in Braxton County, the son of the late Doyle and Mae Nicholas Bennett. He was a member of Normantown High School State Champion basketball team in 1945 and a member of Masonic Lodge, Gassaway, for 50 years. Surviving are his wife, Garnet Dawn Moore Bennett; four daughters, Debbie Moore of Ripley, Carol Polan of Huntington, Vicky Carter of Rosedale and Lisa Tanner of Perkins; one son, Richard Bennett of Reedy; one sister, Barbara Kincaid of Spencer; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one cousin; and special friend, Gene Bennett of Rosedale.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Davis of Detroit, Mich. Services will be held Friday, 2 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Elder George Rose officiating.
