Born 1924 in Oklahoma to Hallie Palmer and David Crockett. Her family moved to Colorado when she was age 4 and lived there until she graduated high school in Olathe, CO. She studied ballet and dance and piano from the age of 4 years and was fortunate to study with Maria Tall Chief, a renowned dancer.

While still in high school she was scouted by the band director to be the majorette for the University of Colorado where she did attend in 1943. This was interrupted for a year as she served in the U.S. Navy from May of 1945 to June of 1946. She returned to the University to major in Music, lead the band and being a Delta, Delta, Delta sorority girl. She appeared on the cover of the school magazine called the DODO and also was on the back cover of September 1946 Sports Digest. That fall she met and married her future husband of 57 years Donn Bennett of Buffalo, SD. After college they moved to Harding County for a short period where she taught school for

1 year and reveled over the years of the fine students she had.

In 1950 when Don re-entered active service for the Korean conflict, they moved to San Diego where she stayed while Donn was in Korea. That fall they then moved to Newport, R.I., as Donn served in JAG for the Navy. In the fall of '53 they returned to Buffalo where she was active with Donn's law practice, mother of six children, accompanist to school, ceremonial and many celebrated sing-alongs that brightened up the county.

In 1972 the family moved to Belle Fourche where she was still active in Donn's law practice, family and golf and served on the Belle Fourche Country Club board of directors. She was a strong friend and supporter to her children and many friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, half-brother, Jack Crockett, and son, David Bennett.

There is a family service at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, with military honors provided by the Sturgis Honor Guard.
