Bondean (Aller) Benson (1924 - 2012)

WESTON - Bondean Aller Benson passed away Jan. 9, 2012, of congestive heart failure at the family home in Weston, Idaho. She was the second child and daughter of Charles Douglas and Bertha Pearl Martin Aller born Dec. 22, 1924, in Lewiston, Utah. Her childhood was primarily spent in Preston and she graduated from Preston High School with the class of 1943.
She married her one and only eternal companion, Serge Morgan Benson on Nov. 26, 1943, in the Logan LDS Temple. They resided in Weston for 69 years. She was blessed to be a wonderful mother and homemaker to 10 children, three of whom died in infancy.
She worked seasonal employment at DelMonte Cannery in Franklin and occasionally at O.P. Skaggs as a grocery checker. She also helped her parents pelt mink. She was never afraid of work. She was a wonderful spouse and caretaker of her husband during his stroke, her brother, Jack, and her daughter, Jackie, during difficult times.
She brought many gifts to the world, her love of gardening, newborn babies and animals, lots of chuckles, a good sense of humor, listening ear, her bread and rolls, her pecan rolls, fudge and candies, her chocolate cakes with White Mountain frosting, her dancing and athletic abilities, her strong testimony and a strong will to live and serve others. She loved family get-togethers and wanted to include everyone.
Through all this and more, she left a lasting impression on everyone and recognized blessings come from a loving family and keeping the commandments. She disliked goodbyes. This saying sums up goodbyes for her: Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I'll miss, until we meet again.
Today she is survived by her wonderful husband, Serge; her children, DeAnn (Spencer) Redmond, Diann (Duane) Hale, Shelia (Randy) Anderson, Larry (Jeannette) Benson, Rick (Caroline) Benson and Brad (Maureen) Benson; 26 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gary (Kathy) Aller. She was preceded in death by her children, Jackie, Debra, Shane and Christine; a grandson, Adam; parents; sister, Carol; brother, Jack; and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, in the Weston 1st Ward chapel with Bishop Blaine Buttars conducting. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church in Weston.
Interment will be in the Weston Cemetery.
