MRS. ANN TYLER BENT TO BE BURIED IN LOUISVILLE
BODY WILL ARRIVE FROM RYE BEACH, N. H., TOMORROW NIGHT
News reached Louisville yesterday of the death in Rye Beach, N. H., Sunday, of Mrs. Ann Tyler Bent, widow of Capt. Silas Bent, U.S.N. of St. Louis, author and scientist, and daughter of the late Robert Tyler, of Louisville. Mrs. Bent was a member of a prominent Louisville family, and her sister, Miss Roberta Tyler, resides in this city. Her decline followed rapidly the deaths of her daughter, Miss Mary Bent and her son-in-law, Crittenden McKinley, of St. Louis, during the last six months.
The body will be brought to Louisville arriving tomorrow night and the burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery, where Capt. Bent is buried, Thursday morning.
Though Mrs. Bent had lived for many years in St. Louis, she was widely known here. A number of relatives reside in Louisville, among whom are her sister, Miss Roberta Tyler; three nieces, Mrs. Powhatan Wooldridge, Mrs. Claude Barnes and Mrs. William Heyburn, and a nephew, Alex G. Barret. A daughter, Mrs. Crittenden McKinley, lives in St. Louis.
Capt. Bent was wealthy and prominent forty years ago in St. Louis and achieved national renown by his theory of polar currents for Arctic exploration. He was a native and life-long resident of St. Louis.
