Born in Franklin, Massachusetts, on Feb. 16, 1933, she was the loving daughter of Ralph and Dorothy Fern (Wood) Bent. She was educated in Franklin Public Schools.
Mrs. Barstow had also lived in Wrentham and Plainville, Massachusetts, before moving to Alfred 21 years ago.
A homemaker, Mrs. Barstow had concentrated on raising her family, and enjoyed doing things with and for them. She at one time had enjoyed league bowling at Ficco's Bowladrome in Franklin.
In addition to her husband, she leaves loving children, Kathleen Barstow, of Maine, Edward Barstow, of Warwick, Rhode Island, Marie Hancock-King, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, John Barstow, of Alfred, and Tina Moneypenny, of Alfred. She was the dear sister of Rosina and Floyd Bent, of Franklin, and Laurel Andrews, of New Hampshire. She was the devoted grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre in Massachusetts on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. Her funeral will be Friday, Oct. 9, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Plainville Cemetery.
