He is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Benson (Frank) of Lanham, MD and a grandson Scott Benson of Burke, VA, two brothers, George and Arthur Bentsen of FL, and several nieces and nephews.
From 1942-46 he served with the US Navy in the Pacific. For 46 years he was an insurance agent and retired from the Bentsen-Combies Agency in 1992. He had been a member of the Warwick Country Club since 1947. He was a member of The Cranston Rotary Club with 58 years of perfect attendance and the recipient of the Paul Harris Award. He had also received the 50 Year Medal from the Nathaniel Green Masonic Lodge.
